I Made Custom Hard Candy From Scratch

Pear is an underrated flavour. I had a pear flavoured Fanta once and it was so good, I also tried a pear flavoured hard candy and it was an equally awesome flavour.

I don't know if I should be more impressed by the muscle work to pull the candy on the hook or by how clear the design came out! All of the people at Lofty Designs were so sweet and this was super cool to watch. Safiya is really becoming a jack of all trades!

This is the most epic crossover for me because I watched lofty pursuits long before I ever watched Safiya and it’s like the two weird halves of my life are combining

I really wish I had known about this earlier...I could've gotten the unicorn poop from this...(FYI: "Unicorn poop" is what they call the big globs of leftover candy like the one Saf was holding towards the end of the video. They sell them for $4 per bag I believe)

My grandma used to make homemade hard tac and pulled taffy. She made other confectioneries, too, but I miss those the most. The pulling of the taffy was a family affair. It also got me more than a couple visits from the tooth fairy 😂

this has to be one of my favorite videos that you’ve done. it was super entertaining and fascinating!

This reminds me of a polymer clay technique. You gather your colored parts and roll them together, then keep rolling and gently compressing until the log (or cane, to use the official term) is the size you want. Then you slice it into circles and bake them. It's called caning, and people generally use it to make custom beads and pendants, etc.
