I Stayed In A Glass Igloo In The Arctic Circle

- HELLO FRIENDS!! Welcome to the final installment of our Nordic/Scandinavian trip - the Glass Igloos in Finland! So far on our trip, we have taken a communal hot bath at the Blue Lagoon in Iceland, nearly cryogenically frozen ourselves at the ICEHOTEL in Sweden, and now we're on to Arctic Finland to stay in a glass igloo under the northern lights!
For years, I've been seeing the glass igloos in Finland on my instagram, tiktok - *and ESclips shorts* feeds - and I've always wanted to try them out. I've never seen the northern lights before, and I've also never stayed in a human-sized terrarium before, but I've always been intrigued by those see-through bubble tents - so we decided to go and try one out and see if we freeze our butts off! And while at Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort, home of the glass igloos, we also tried a bunch of arctic activities - like snowmobiling, reindeer sleigh rides, dog sledding, and traditional Finnish sauna-ing and ice bathing!!
What do you think?? Would you stay in a glass igloo?

HELLO FRIENDS!! welcome to the final installment of our Nordic/Scandinavian trip - the Glass Igloos in Finland! we've been seeing these bad boys all over the internet for years, and finally had the chance to try them out - as well as a bunch of arctic activities, including a very chilling ice bath session 🥶and a very bumpy dog sledding tour (foreshadowing)🐕what do you guys think? would you stay in a glass igloo? and where do you think we should we travel to next?? xoxo, saf
Thank you for this Saf, absolutely loved this series and I'm looking forward to finishing this glass igloo video❤, hope you and Tyler are doing well.
try going to all of British
ok picture shenanigans in europe
I have always wanted to see the northern lights in person! This place is beautiful. I would definitely stay here. Even though the cold is my archenemies. Also, I would love to see you guys go to Australia.
I’d love to experience the igloos they look super cool especially the sled riding
As a European it is so funny how impressed Safiya and Tyler are by the “uneventful” border crossing 😂
Right? I'd love her to cross the border from Poland to Czechia from the polish town Cieszyn. It's literally just crossing the bridge near the centre of the town, and you can't even tell you're already in a diffiferent country :D
I once crossed into Czechia by accident on a scavenger hunt, because the girl who was holding the map confused the border with a big road… the camp guide asked as not to talk about it at camp, not because it was or something illegal but because it was unplanned and she didn’t want to get into trouble… 😅
I live near 2 borders of Belgium and Germany, I get groceries and gas at my neighbor countries like I also do in my own country 😂 Europe is so unbothered, we truly live in freedom. #grateful
@Mo Netethank you, I think I have finally found the mysterie border crossing from my childhood holiday years ago. I am trying to search for this place for soo long 😂
Haha. yes. I always have to remind myself that I DO need my documents to check into a hotel because they are never checked at borders.
melissa saying “saf i might throw up” and saf immediately going “OK, excuse me can we stop?!” was so comforting for some reason, ik it’s the right thing to do but many ppl would go “really? just hold up a little” or be annoyed 😅
"Hold on for like 5 minutes" is what caused me to throw up all over the backseat and therefore my older brother when we were on a road trip as kids. My dad learned his lesson that day lol
Well I feel in this situation everyone would rather switch than having someone trhow up on them. But yeah Saf must be an awesome boss 😌
As someone with emetophobia, I thought the same thing. It’s already anxiety wrenching enough for us to let someone know we’re gonna get sick so when someone have that type of calm response it makes things that much better. I thought it was sweet too🥹
Kind of related but when Saf and Tyler were streaming and Tyler accidentally wore a shirt that was offensive without knowing, the minute people in the chat started saying it was offensive, he was like “oh I’m sorry, I’m gonna go change really quick” and Saf was like “yeah, go change. We’re really sorry about that guys.” She seems like a very understanding person and is always looking out for the best interests of her employees and fans
I immediately thought that too. Maybe I shy away from social confrontation but her also immediately speaking up was cool to see.
I love how you include some of the struggle parts of staying at these places. This is the type of travel content we all need.
Pro tip. You can do like we do in camping and change clothes under the covers or in a sleeping bag if you prioritize privacy. Works like a charm.
ok
Yup, most would say, "We had a small hiccup.", "There was an inconvenience." And that's it, It's nice seeing Saf be 100% honest with us and not hide anything. From showing us old food to being trapped for 2 days in airports.
Very interesting
Hearing Tyler say, "you got it sweetie," was so sweet and encouraging when they did the plunge pool.
Fr! I was waiting for someone to mention how sweet that was!
That was super sweet and supportive !
Watching the dogs run and pull the sled was so darn cute, they looked so excited and happy to be running like "WE'RE DOIN THE THING GUYS LETS GO LETS GO RUN"
aw it’s so cute to think of it that way
And then people wonder why they tear their couch apart living in Houston Texas lol
Some dog breeds *love* having a job. Those guys love having a running-based job, in particular.
@Ali D. Katt I always wondered. I see a lot american youtubers/streamers etc just letting their dog into their garden to do their buisness or go on a little 20 min walk. For most dogs thats waaay to less. Every Dog, even the smallest, needs Brain, Nose and Body activity in their daily life. Some need more running, some more nose work etc. depending on race and age. And of course also their time to rest, sleep. Over here we have specific rules for our dogs, seeing all those "funny" videos of dogs ripping apart trash, furniture... mostly from america, just shows something wents very wrong there ^^
As your Finnish subscriber, it makes me so happy that you actually came and visited Finland. I’ve followed your journey since you’ve been in ladylike in buzzfeed. I started following you when I was around 14-15 and now I’m 24 and I’m still following your journey. I wish I could have given you and Tyler some other Finland advice, but I hope you guys had a good flight back home even though you were sick. Fun fact my mom works in Finnair so it’s possible you could have been in the same flight as her ❤️ Much love to you and Tyler.
Sending love from Finland as well ❤️ I hope you had a wonderful time. Thank you so much for showing local sights and helping our tourism industry by making a video!
Same here, I've followed her for years and years 🇫🇮❤️
It's so wonderfull that you visited Finland =D. I hope you're alright and not sick anymore! The Nordic lights have been pretty crazy this year so you came at the right time! Visit Finland again 🤗
Same! 🇫🇮
Saf needs to do like a spooky trip visiting locations known for horror literature/movies or just haunted like the Stanley Hotel, Sleepy Hollow, Dracula's Castle, Paris catacombs, etc. Could be a fun travel/Halloween series.
omg YES
this is the best idea ever
this should be a trip program!!
That is genius!!!!
Salem Massachusetts!
I always appreciate that Safiya includes a clip of the standard rooms for us to see
Doing a complete 180 and visiting the countries in Southern Europe during Summer would be a fun series (Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece, Croatia, etc.) I would love to see what you guys think of these countries, specially Portugal since it's my country ;D.
Have you looked at the temperature??
Greece 🥺 its so beautiful there ... I can't remember the name but there is a town full of cats I think she'd love
Greece is so beautiful! If you have a chance, stop in a little town in the mountains and get lunch. That's what my group did. We needed our guide to translate for us, but I had the most delicious meatballs, and frankly food I've ever had.
Why am I crying??? Those dogs and reindeer are just living their best lives. This makes me happy. So happy I'm bawling. Wow!! I love to see animals treated like they should be.
This world holds so much beauty, we really need to appreciate it more (I especially mean rich billionaires who can actually save this planet and many animals and people from dying.)
As a Finn I am just so apologetic for them not even taking a snowmobile ride to your cabin with your luggage and for that price point the zebra print is unforgivable. Also sad you caught a stomach flu :( dis you taste reindeer? They’re ofc cuter alive :-D THE PUPPIES, my friend used to work there as a sleigh dogs’ assistant.
Oh I need to find reindeer meet at my place, is it similar to deer or moose in taste?
@Unnamellie probably, I have no experience in those. Very "gamey" and maybe smoky in my opinion? Amazing with mashed potatoes and lingonberry jam :)
The zebra print and short curtains were giving a cheap Air BnB vibe. I would be bothered too, but luckily they're so optimistic; the experience definitely made up for it, I'm sure!
There were just so many great moments in it
Thumbs up
Very nice
Nice
Good
Bien
As a dogsled musher who has been racing for 8 years, I can assure you that even when the dogs know and trust you and know you’re a pro at dogsledding, the experience is STILL just hanging on for dear life 🤣

@Philosophy_Boti love this
😂😂
Amazing the people you meet on the internet the closest I have come to dog sledding is reading call of the wild. That was a long time ago but I should reread I remember loving it and crying
ok
From someone who's been working in the region, wouldn't be surprised if the bug came from Kakslauttanen. Standards there aren't as lux as it seems. The owner got fined a few years ago for improper waste disposal. I'm happy that you mentioned that there are other Glass Igloo hotels. Would love to see you back in Finnish Lapland again, not necessarily for a video
Thanks for the information!!
Yeah food poisoning hits hard and _fast_ ; they had to have got it from Kakslauttanen.
Judging by all the baggage sledges thrown about in the area and not being picked up, what else are they failing to do?
Which other Igloo hotel would you recommend?
I second the question of where do you think ts the best resort to visit in the region?
As a Finn I loved Safiyas' way of pronouncing Kakslautanen and the reaction on the Sweden- Finland border.
Hearing the dogs so excited to run made me so happy I could cry. They love what they do and they do what they love
Still, as a Dutch person, it is hilarious to see you guys being so weirded out by there not being any border hassle in Europe. My country literally has a town that just has pieces of Belgium inside of it. Also, there is the "drielandenpunt", and there is just a rock you can walk around and you cross the borders to and from Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. I also remember the first time I went to America and had to cross the border into Canada being astonished by the hassle.
Edit: I see similar comments now, sorry
Safiya's gargling excitement noises about the Northern Lights is exactly how I'd feel!! Seeing that is something I'd lose my mind over. Also, the puppies were so precious. I just love this whole video.
Northern lights are just the battle fires from cosmic radiation hitting our deflection shield that's powered by a huge wind up generator inside the planet . It hasn't been wound since the Moon creation, but it's still chugging along .
can confirm, sensation in my hiney has returned 🕺
horrary 🎉🎉🎉, love to hear that Tyler. Hope you and Saf are well
Huzzah 🎉
😂
Was the frozen hiney the true bug affecting belly operations?
Saifya Nygraad 🅥 DO NOT CLICK THIS LINK EVERYONE!!!
Getting that sick and then having to go on a plane is one of my biggest fears and I feel for all of you so badly! That experience looked amazing though so I hope despite the sick end it was wonderful for everyone.
Same. Absolutely horrifying!
You need to go to Hamanasi in Belize! It's an eco-friendly resort that has coastal rainforest. We stayed in a tree house in the jungle, went snorkeling along the Carribean reef, saw two different Mayan ruins sites, went to a chocolate farm and made our own chocolate bars! There is so much to see and do and it's such a neat experience!!!
Upvote the shit out of this!!!!!! I would love to see this! I’m glad you had this experience😊
I wanna go to Belize now 😭
You guys should definitely do a train series next! Go to different countries and take overnight trains, that would be really cool
I'm really happy you included Finland in your Scandinavian visit because I have seen way too many people ignore us. People seem to think our country is not that cool or interesting but it honestly is very much like Sweden. I also love the pronunciation of Finnish things, always fun to hear how someone from somewhere else says them.
Also fun fact: Finland invented the Sauna over 2000 years ago and every single house has one, all apartment buildings also have a sauna to reserve if you don't have one in your apartment. Smoke saunas are the best! A cool swim in the lake right after sauna is the fricking best and there's no other feeling in this world that could beat that for me. Can't wait for mid summer.
My father’s partner is Finnish and when they were looking for a house to buy (in Belgium), a room that could be made into a sauna was a priority. 🙂 I also like to use it every now and then.
I'm so happy you were brave and did whole 2 rounds of sauna and lake!! I promise it's not just for hazing haha, the endorphines you get after going back to sauna from cold are out of this world! Plus the whole excitement and giggles of braving the cold together. The easier version is in the summer, you still get the same effect of temperature change. And you can take it a bit slower, go 10 times back and forth, drink some beer, and enjoy the sunny evening
As a kid me and my sisters would jump into the hot tub, then the pool, back and forth really fast. It was so fun lol. My mom said it was dangerous and can cause heart problems? So we were forced to stop. Wonder where she got that dumb misinformation
@sabrina It isn’t misinformation. Cold water shock is a real thing, that can lead to heart attacks.
“"That cold shock can be dangerous," said Dr. Jorge Plutzky, director of preventive cardiology at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. "Whether there are health benefits or not is not clear and has not been established."
Plunging the body into cold water triggers a sudden, rapid increase in breathing, heart rate and blood pressure known as the cold shock response. That can cause a person to drown within seconds if they involuntarily gasp while their head is submerged. The shock also places stress on the heart and makes it work harder.“
-American Heart Association
Don’t do this alone. If you have no heart problems then you’re probably fine, but you don’t want to find out that you have an undiagnosed underlying condition when there is no one there to help you.
@MissCaraMint You're not supposed to submerge your head when you do this or jump like cannonball. You ascend steady and slow while holding onto a ladder. Also this is a whole culture and tradition in Finland that so many people have done forever. No you are not supposed to do it if you have heart problems, but you're also not supposed to watch scary movies or go to a roller coaster and nobodys going around telling those things are deadly for avarage people. And also I don't think those kids were going to get cold shock for jumping into a pool in summer
@MissCaraMint what also causes increase in breathing, heart rate and stresses the heart: exercise. That doesn't mean exercise is bad for the heart. It depends on your overall health
I LOVED LOVED LOVED how the instructor introduced every single dog before your ride. Even letting you know who the dog leaders are. SOO cute
My fav part too
Beep bop... I'm the Philosophy Bot. Here, have a quote:

We finnish are stiff BUT you must know everything about our animals and you may even hear us babble to our animals. But that you must never tell anyone ☝🏻
@Serena Kyrkkö Awwww thats literally rhe cutest thing. My heart 😍🥺
Animal petting is ALWAYS a good activity! Those dogs enjoy the ride sooo much ! The whole trip looks just super fun! If I had the money to spend on it, I'd go ^^
I’m so glad Saf mentioned the Sámi people because I just watched an amazing movie about them recently and it was very emotional. I’m part Indigenous Canadian myself and how similar it was to how things happened here with residential/day schools and everything was shocking. This is a very respectful and beautiful vlog as always!
So happy to see you continual success outside of Buzzfeed!!! You deserve everything you’ve accomplished keep up the amazing content queen LOVE YOUUUUU
Being stuck on a long plane ride when sick is my worst nightmare. I love your travel videos, I didn't realize how much I missed them.
There is so much to see in Scandinavia, going in the summer is amazing! The stomach bug can also be the change in food and water. And new people sharing germs. Kinda like how kids get sick after the first week of the beginning of the school year after not seeing people over the summer. And don't forget airplane air. 😊
I love the fact that when Melissa said she's not well Saf immediately stopped the sled and switched places. 100% great human
Yessss! I feel bad for them not feeling well but she was so kind to Melissa!
That's literally basic human decency 😮
@YO LK it really is, which not many people have!
Well yeah of course she did lol no one wants to get vom'd on!
You're appreciating someone for showing basic human decency. I hope you realize that
I NEED A BALTIC SERIES😂😂 We dont have ice hotels or igloos but Baltics is magical, healing and calming
I can't get over the Reindeer and the dogs, they're sooooo CUTE! 😭😭😭
I’m from Texas and I always joke that you can find a little bit of Texas in everything if you try hard enough… hence the Texas BBQ Pringles even in Finland😂 Loved the video and this type of trip is on my bucket list so this was so helpful for future planning!!
You can find them everywhere in nearly every flavour in europe. From a supermarket to airport or hotels, we got pringles.
I've seen them here in Sweden too. I should give them a try.
I could literally watch you and Tyler do anything and everything for hours lol 😂
As a Finn I always love when foreigners get to appreciate and explore our nature and culture :)
Same! Even though the way they used they pulkka drove me slightly crazy. Like don't leave your legs out, that will slow you down and get you covered in snow friends! 😂
You guys are seriously the best. I love your nature, culture and music, but especially your sense of humor and personalities, perhaps because it's very similar to mine :)
Yeah definetly, i’m half Finnish and i have been to Finland lots of times, so it feels good to see other people enjoy it as well!
Same! Minus the way Safiya said "Kakslauttanen". 😂
Same here! I was so excited for this. It was really fun seeing them in Lapland doing same things I have done 😄
Went to Finland and did the same activities minus the igloos and definitely the best trip ever. It's so much fun and the cold just makes everything more interesting.
I’m so jealous that you got to sleep in an igloo, meet sled dogs, see the northern lights and meet reindeer! Thanks for bringing us along. Seeing the northern lights is on my bucket list, and I think I now have to add those glass igloos as well.
Me as a Canadian who can dog sled every winter, grew up on snowmobiles, & sees a ridiculous amount of snow every year. It amazes me how exciting snow is to some people.
Saf and Tyler’s videos never disappoints.
Thank you for coming to finland❤ as a finn i hardly hear anyone visiting us. hope you liked finland❤️🇫🇮 as a finn its always fun to hear people who come to finland speak that its cold when its like -10•C , cus we often have over -25•c in the winter.
Last year we had -29•C and we still had to go to school😅
They don't often use terms of endearment so hearing Tyler call Safiya sweetie just about melted me entirely.
WAIT WHEN DID THAT HALPEND
@V3NUS During the sauna and ice plunge
@V3NUS 15:32
Yes!! I noticed it and melted ❤
i had to turn on captions to see if i was being ridiculous! 🤣
This was really well done and SO excited for you to see the Northern Lights! It's definitely on my bucket list to see them. Other than the ending, glad you had a fun time with the various experiences there. Your fun travels are always some of my favorite videos :D
Love these travel vlogs!! So nice to see parts of the world that i haven’t gotten to see. Maybe you could explore Greece/the Mediterranean next?
My favourite game to play watching Saf and Ty is seeing how many times Saf references the 'I'm talking about Mountain Dew baby' guy. This did not disappoint.
Thanks for showing us your amazing trips. I hope you’ll go to Philippines someday. Longing to watch your next travel vlog.
Tyler calling Saf “sweetie” when she’s going in the plunge was so adorable 🥹
if you watch their live streams on their other channel, he calls her really cute names 🥹🥹
came to say the same! i never heard him say that before.
@katie j. he calls her “baby cake” on the live streams it’s so friggin cute
Those were some really solid northern lights, you got very lucky :)! Glad you had fun in Finland!
These frozen travel vlogs are actually fire! Love this series, and would love to see you do more ice / cryo therapy stuffs. I'm starting that routine myself, so it would be cool to have your vlogs going into that adventure!
I absolutely LOVE this series! You guys found the coolest places. Can you do one of those hotel train scenic things? They have ones in the United States I have always wanted to do and ones Europe I believe.
I'm so glad to see you guys had fun here in Finland! 😄Such a shame you all got a stomach bug so close to the end of your trip 😣(If it wasn't a food poisoning it might have been Norovirus!)
If you want to visit here again you definitely should visit the capital of Finland, Helsinki. It would be a totally different/opposite experience from the Igloos and reindeers and you could visit the museums, cafes, bars and try Flamingo Spa and listen some music underwater 👀 You can also visit The Moomins in Muumimaailma (Moomin land) and Moomin museum.
I also think the summer time would be more comfortable for you to visit here if you don't want to freeze your butts off again! 😂😂 (Even though I personally really like Rovaniemi's Santa's Village during winter as well and they have the best salmon soup in the restaurant!)
You already saw the dark nights (and days) of Finland during winter so it would be amazing if you saw the "nightless night"/"midnight sun" of Finnish summer, when the sun doesn't set almost at all! ☀
I have absolutely LOVED these travel series! Every episode has been worth the wait ❤ You are definitely adding destinations and experiences to my bucket list 🙌
As a Belgian who drives to Germany, France and the Netherlands quite regularly, I chuckled at their surprise when they didn't have to "do anything" once they crossed the border.
I'm old enough to remember when we had to do something crossing Italy to France.
A quick glance at the ID cards, nothing serious, but you have to stop at the gendarme.
i wish we could have the same experience in romania… thanks austria
@Ulisse DaZante Oh yes, my parents used to stop at customs when they were young and went shopping in Germany. To me, that seems so unreal.
@Robert Martin Seriously? Do you have to stop at a checkpoint?
There’s honestly more security between state borders in the USA than between countries in Europe
I stayed in Finland at the official home of Santa Claus! It was such an amazing experience! I only saw a quick glimpse of the northern lights, but thankful I saw even that!
I also got food poisoning while there, so don’t feel bad Tyler! 😂
Please go to Taiwan next! I took a trip there in May and it was the most amazing place. The food is the absolute highlight but also night markets/shopping, there's a growing craft movement (leather goods/jewelry/etc), lots of fun/interesting/luxe accommodations, and of course the culture and geography are fascinating and very unique. It has the climate of a tropical island, the topography and technology of Japan, the urban advancements of Korea with public transport that rivals Germany, and a mix of Chinese/Japanese/SE Asian cultural influences, laid over with a uniquely Taiwanese attitude of positivity and social acceptance. I'm certainly biased because Taiwan is my heritage, but it's my favorite place in the world outside the US.
I love that our country is getting some recognition!❤🇫🇮
Wow, what an incredible experience! They got to see the aurora borealis, they went dog sledding and reindeer sleighing, snowmobiling, and they did that sauna/ice pond too. There’s hardly any privacy in the igloos, you can see into them.
I think what I enjoy so much about these videos is Safiya and Tyler’s attitudes. Even if they’re doing something that I feel like I would hate, they always manage to have fun with it. They’re the kinds of people that I think could make any activity enjoyable together.
This is what I love abt them. They seem to just flow with the adventure and even if it sucks they find a way to describe to us what the pros were😂
Yes! And there’s always something to learn!
ok
Coming from somewhere that gets the Northern lights, it always puts a smile on my face when people who haven't seen them do for the first time.
I think y’all should do an American road trip where you stay in weird hotels! There is a dog shaped hotel called Dog Bark Park Inn and Beckham Creek Cave Lodge!
I'm really enjoying these videos, I like that you always show us the map of the place and where all the things are located. Beside the great content you bring us, I love to see you and Tyler sharing new experiences and making memories together. You're such a cute couple and I wish you all the best. You should try to stay in one of those 'cave hotels' in Cappadocia, Turkey and have the balloon experience.
I'm from Northern Ontario in Canada and we get -40 degrees Celsius in the winter. I've worked at a gold mine in Nunavut and experienced -60 degrees celsius during the winter. While growing up, I've seem a lot of northern lights. Being indigenous to the area, our elders used to tell us that "if you whistle at the northern lights, they'll pick you up and take you away." It was more than likely a deterrent to keep up home late at night. :)
I would LOVE to see you guys explore Southeast Asia! Places like Bangkok, Singapore, Bali 😊
I would love to see you guys do some crazy hotels in South America! Like the Skylodge in Peru, Uros Floating Village Peru, the Huilo Huilo Biological Reserve in Chile, The Salt Hotel Bolivia. Absolutely loving this series! Or come to Canada, maybe do a series here with Ben and Cristine! There's the Free Spirit Spheres in Nanaimo BC, HI Ottawa Jails In Ottawa Ontario, Quebec’s Le Hobbit at Entre Cîmes et Racines, Oasis Pods in NFLD or New Brunswick, Newfoundland’s Fogo Island Inn, Sundance Lodges in Alberta, Cap Jaseux Adventure Park in Quebec (spheres suspended from trees).
It would be fun to see you go on a trip with a budget. For example go to thailand with a $10 budget of the whole day
Love this idea! Peru especially, I visited the island of the Uros in college while studying abroad!
You can so glamping on patagonia forest.
Go to the Maldives!!! The underwater hotel is amazing and I hope to visit it one day. ♥
Yess Yess canadian edition!
Seeing the Northern Lights is definitely a bucket list item for me! So cool! Loved your icy adventures over the last few videos.
I wanna see saf go to new orleans to learn about voodoo etc or go to Salem bc there is so much witch themed/ spooky stuff and lots of history!
Hi, fan from Finland, so glad you came here to see beautiful Lapland 🙌 I hope you had fun
The behind the scenes on this would be so cool (no pun intended.) These always feel like cute couple-y vacations at first and then there's the camera crew. The logistics of how all of this was filmed, how the team spent their time, and how you prevented the cameras from freezing, would all fascinate me. (But then who would film the film crew doing their work? I think the arctic circle might get crowded.)
I always wanted to see aurora lights!! Your video is so interesting and inspiring, now I want to visit the same place. Thank you for sharing such a cute town and filming in that weather. Love both you and Tyler!!! Keep up the good work ❤
Hope that stomach bug didn't linger for too long 🥺
Props to saf for the immediate “excuse me” on the dog sled that would have been a 15 minute convo on who was gonna say something
I was so surprised when her friend just calmly said “I might throw up” because if it were me I’d be panicking so hard lol
Not if your friend is actually in trouble and not feeling well. In my experience, social anxiety disappears in these situations for a short moment, just when it's about somebody else and not yourself.
@Baguette Gott I mean to be fair saf was right in the splash zone so I think anyone would act pretty swiftly 😂😂
@mary SAME omg the entire end of that trip is like my worst nightmare. Imagine coming down with a stomach bug in the middle of a long flight like Saf did? I'd just ask to be tossed off the planel lmao
@Steph yeah, if it's either get puked on or speak despite my social anxiety, I'm choosing the later cause my weak stomach triumphs my social anxiety by a mile
This looks so fun. Definitely in my bucket list. Another great video. ❤
“Am I not turtley enough for the turtle club?” Thank you! No one gets me when I say that except my sister 😭💕
This looked like a dream come true Safiya I’m glad you got to go with Tyler ❤
Honestly I’d love to see you two do a ranch/rodeo experience out here. The daddy of them all is pretty good, out in Cheyenne.
This trip looks soooo fun
Hi, a Finn here. I am surprised you guys actually got into the icy water! I am a wimp myself, never done it and probably never will. Hopefully you enjoyed your stay. :)
I'm not a Finn, but a closely living northern Russian (well, my ethnos are partly finns, does it count?), and I've never took a dive in water after sauna, but I've resorted to rubbing myself with snow. You might try it to, it's pretty fun, and you don't need to get in ice cold water!
i have loved this entire series!! as someone who doesn’t/can’t travel much it’s very cool to see you and Tyler’s experiences :)
Love your travel videos! A place I think would be fun to travel is Leavenworth, there's things like a treehouse airbnb and a nutcracker hotel. It looks super fun!
My family is Finnish. Both of my great uncles had a sauna each! One had a pool and we would do this in the summer as kids. We'd go into the sauna and go swimming after at night.
I'm sure my great uncle and aunt would do the dip in the winter too.
It was so fun as a kid because I'd be up late in the summer in the pool night swimming after a sauna.
Wow makes me feel kinda weird that you guys were 400km (250 miles) from where I live. It's like you're actual real people, and not just some internet peeps from somewhere far far away. Edit: Who the frick thought the zebra print was appropriate 😂 Is it a pun, 'cos there's dog sled safari? As a Finn I'm just so confused, it's so unusual.
There is a reason they used those zebra prints in the glass igloos. It's a classic print from a Finnish interior design brand called Artek that was founded by one of Finland's most famous architect Alvar Aalto and his wife Aino Aalto.
Absolutely valid reason! Personally I think Marimekko Lumimarja or something like that would still look nicer
luulis että löytyis nätimpiä ja ikoonisempia suomalaisia printtejä/kuoseja ku toi ällö seeprakuosi. muutenkin ihan täysin vääri viba ja teema verrattuna igluihin...
Thanks for the info! That makes sense!
Oh that makes more sense, thank you for the info!
I am from South Africa. The Zebra interiors seemed strange to me... you would expect that on a safari. Thank you for the explanation.
LOVED this video series! So beautiful, so exciting, and so very different. Giving us all a little piece of the arctic circle!
this trip looked like a lot of fun, but also really exhausting and a lot of work. I hope future trips yall go on you book a couple extra relaxation days for yourselves ^^
Amazing video Safiya and Tyler!! I loved watching it ❤❤!! I would love to see you guys going back to Asia and more specifically South Asia, with countries like India, Nepal, Bhutan, etc!! 💕🫶🏽💕
This is kinda cheesy but I've been smiling so hard through the whole video! Love it!
Love these videos , It'd be good if you tried more restaurants too like the labrinth or platform 1094 restaurants etc in singapore, i live my travel dreams through your videos ☺️i hope to travel many places in the future 🤞🏻🌟
I was NOT expecting zebra print comforters and the odd almost 80s dixie cup print "curtains". 😂😂 I feel like if those things were just plain black or white it would feel INFINITELY nicer! I would have a blast decorating those igloos. 😂
It gives Finnish uncle vibes. Like designing the place himself instead of hiring someone who knows even a little bit about it and going "ah yes, I think this is what looks modern and fancy to the foreigners"
Deffinetly 😂 I’m finnish and was very disappointed seeing the decor is so tacky.. I feel like simple white or black would give such a more polished look 😂
@Gnome Reginam Yep, that is peak Finnish uncle aesthetic :'D
For the price per night of those igloos I would expect much nicer details than Ikea shag carpets and frumpy curtains... As a Finn I'm kind of embarrassed that this is perhaps the best known hotel we have :/
I used to work at Kakslauttanen as a receptionist and even back then I thought that the style was terrible 😂 It would be so easy and pretty affortable to elevate the look for more high end with just changing the textiles
Would love more travelling in Europe! Maybe some castles in Germany for example?
Another super fun video with Safiya and Tyler!
I probably rewatched the dogs part 10+ times... THEYRE SO CUTE
I love watching your travel videos! It makes me want to travel more and I am for sure adding this and your other visits to my bucket list ❤
As someone who was also recently cursed by the stomach bug, but in the comfort of my own home, you have my full sympathy. Having it on a crowded plane, oh boy, what a nightmare. They also say that planes are flying petri dishes so you might have gotten it from there, considering how often you flew
I recently got a stomach bug at a music festival. It was NOT pretty haha. I had to leave early and it was mostly me just desperately hoping I wouldnt vom or shart all over my partner's car lmao
ugh i totally understand 😅 while it’s not a stomach bug it’s a reaction to some medications but still sucks
Unfortunately that's the main reason why people are getting that stomach bug, because they are traveling and going to places with it, probably half of the travelers in that plain got it now :D But sure its kind a understandable that they didn't want to miss the flight.
Yup.. I got a stomach bug from the plane at the beginning of our trip to visit family a few years ago. I kindly shared it with everyone else one by one 🙈
Bro I know, I threw up 11 times in one night. Definitely would not recommend
I'm a bit late to this video but it would be so cool if you guys did a Australasian (Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania) tour! There so many cools things there to do and I'm sure many unique hotels around
You should totally go to amsterdam and go to the Botel, it's a boat hotel. Their are big letters on top of the hotel and their actually hotel rooms that you can stay in, there all uniquely themes and diffrent!
This is the type of travel content we all need.
OMG the "Master of Disguise" quote about the turtle club made me so happy! So much nostalgia.❤ Thank you guys for being amazing Saf and Tyler!
This place will always have a special place in my heart. I have worked 2 winter seasons in a place called saariselka (You can see it from the mushroom viewing deck haha) and the kakslauttanen arctic resort was where we guided our search for santa trip. Did you see the planetarium? It was under construction both years I was there.
As someone who had a stomach bug hit me on the plane on my return trip from China you have my deepest sympathy. When the Chinese flight attendants couldn’t understand my panicked attempt to express why waiting politely in the bathroom line was a bad idea my stomach gave out and I projectile hurled all over the back of the plane in front of the bathrooms while they and several passengers looked on in horror. So whatever happened on your plane ride home, I get wanting to never speak of it. 🤐
On a more pleasant note I’d love to see you guys do a series visiting all the international Disney Parks and especially try some of the cool foods that aren’t in the US and compare things like Haunted Mansion rides in each park.
Yessss international Disney hotel and parks os a great idea
I imagine being on the plane would make a stomach bug 100X times worse. Flying already makes me nauseous.
@Evelyn Materomg just imagine the gas and the diarrhea every 10 mins
Not sure why they don't have have barf bags for such an occasion.
I flew from Montreal to Paris, and since it was an overnight flight we were given a meal. When we landed in Paris I started feeling weird and the next thing I knew I threw up ALL the food. So embarrassing.
What an awesome video! I love your content. Your videos always brighten my day. Thank you for that!
